BioHiTech has partnered with Delaware North, one of the largest privately-held hospitality and food service companies in the world with over $3 billion in annual revenue, to provide solutions tailored to meet the needs of its food service and hospitality customers, like Miller Park. BioHiTech's Digesters have been commissioned by Delaware North as part of its environmental stewardship platform, GreenPath®.  Through GreenPath, Delaware North ensures careful management of its environmental impact by setting strict guidelines for energy and water consumption, waste management and other standards at its 200-plus operating locations around world, which includes sports and entertainment venues, national and state parks, destination resorts and restaurants, airports, and regional casinos. Since its inception in the early 1990s, GreenPath has won dozens of awards from the likes of NASA, the National Park Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Travel Association.

As cited in the award announcement VenuesNow stated, "The system, installed earlier this year in partnership with Delaware North, the Brewers' food, beverage and retail partner, is the first of its kind among MLB ballparks and has the ability to eliminate 30,000 pounds of food waste from entering landfills in a typical baseball season. April 23, 2018, Delaware North commissioned the installation of the biodigester in its kitchen, where organic food waste or food that is not suitable to be sold or donated is put through the aerobic digestion process to convert it into the more eco-friendly wastewater. The system also includes a data analytics platform to help the ballpark's operations understand more about the waste stream to make them more efficient making it another important step in the ballpark's efforts to eliminate waste and improve its environmental footprint. In its first month of operation, the biodigester processed 4,700 pounds of waste, which saved the equivalent of 63.8 cubic feet of landfill space. To date the biodigester processed 10.4 tons of food waste, which saved the equivalent of 281.2 cubic feet of landfill space and 7.4 metric tons of CO2 equivalent."

Frank E. Celli, CEO of BioHiTech, commented, "We are pleased to have been a part of Miller Park receiving this award along with our valued partner Delaware North. Together with Delaware North, we are deploying a sustainable and cost-effective food waste disposal solution that makes great business sense.  We are excited about the additional opportunities we are pursuing in the sports and entertainment industry and look forward to continuing to expand our presence in this space by providing a technology solution for food waste disposal that benefits environment through lower CO2 equivalents, reduced landfill usage, and improved operational efficiencies."
